Christie joined the WHL Group in 2003 and after holding various IT Leadership portfolios was appointed as Chief Information Officer in 2017. He previously held the roles of Group Operations: Head of Strategy Execution and Executive Assistant to the Group Chief Operations Officer, and Head of PMO. Christie serves as a part-time lecturer at Stellenbosch Business School.

Chairman of the Woolworths Group Retirement Fund.

Bradley has been with the WHL group for 15 years, mainly in Supply Chain & Logistics and has more than 25 years of experience in logistics and supply chain across various sectors. He was appointed as the Supply Chain & Logistics executive in 2017, prior to which he held senior leadership roles in supply chain, strategy execution and IT.

He has led key business change strategies, implementing new capabilities and overseen several large-scale capacity investment programmes. He was recently appointed to the WHL executive committee and is responsible for driving the development of the supply chain and online fulfilment networks.

Jeanine is an experienced investment analyst having spent 19 years in the financial services industry. She joined Woolworths in June 2020 after a seven year career at HSBC where she was the South African Retail analyst responsible for evaluating market dynamics, curating financial models and providing detailed analyses of the retail sector.

Her early career includes roles across a range of capital market sectors, such as at Allan Gray Limited and Standard Bank Limited where she gained experience in trading across all asset classes, equity advisory, and portfolio management.

Manie Maritz is the Chief Executive Officer of Woolworths Ventures. He was the Managing Director of Woolworths Fashion, Beauty and Home since June 2020 and was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer: Fashion, Beauty and Home following an internal restructure. He has extensive retail experience across multiple merchandise categories and in various leadership roles.

Manie commenced his career as a buyer in The Foschini Group (TFG) in 1993 where, other than for a period as Brand Manager for Polo and General Manager for LA Jeans, he remained until 2018. At TFG he was the Managing Director of Markham; Group Director of Markham, Fabiani and G-Star with responsibility for TFG’s Africa expansion; and after TFG’s acquisition of Phase Eight (TFG London) in 2014, he was appointed to the board of TFG London and oversaw the integration of TFG London (Phase Eight, Whistles and HOBBS) into TFG. Three years later, with TFG’s acquisition of the Australian Retail Apparel Group in 2017, Manie was appointed to the board of TFG Australia with responsibility for the integration of this business into TFG.

Melanie was appointed as Group People Director on 6 May 2022. She has been with the WHL Group since March 2018 with responsibility for the Group Human Resources function, inclusive of the Country Road Group. Prior to that, Melanie enjoyed an extensive career in various people and human resource management positions at executive level at Edcon (Pty) Ltd over a period spanning seventeen years. She has also worked as Group Employee Relations Manager at Barlow Motor World and as a lecturer at the University of South Africa.

Spencer rejoined the WHL Group on 1 April 2025 as WHL Chief Customer Officer. His portfolio includes Stores, Online, Marketing, Customer and Loyalty and Rest of Africa operations. His appointment follows a four-year career abroad as Managing Director of Woolworths New Zealand, a subsidiary of Woolworths Australia. During his tenure there, he spearheaded the successful turnaround of the New Zealand business.

Prior to moving to New Zealand, Spencer had an exceptional track record spanning over 25 years in the WHL Group where he held various key senior roles. The most significant of these was his leadership of the Group’s Food Division from 2015 to 2020.

Steven was appointed CEO of Country Road Group in July 2025. He is a highly experienced global retail leader with over 30 years in executive and board roles across the UK, North America, Europe, and Asia. He brings deep capability in brand, product, and multi-banner retail, with a strong record of leading complex business transformations.

He was previously CEO of Debenhams and led Selfridges Group’s Holt Renfrew & Co, with leadership spanning both mid-tier and luxury retail. Steven has held senior roles with international brands including Calvin Klein and Perry Ellis, bringing proven leadership across fashion, home, and beauty in both digital and physical retail.

Nuholt was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Woolworths FBH in September 2025. He brings extensive experience in global retail and brand development, having managed senior teams throughout Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

His appointment follows a decade-long international career at Levi Strauss & Co., where he most recently held the position of Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the Asia Pacific region, based in Singapore.

Nuholt is recognised as a results-focused leader guided by strong values, with demonstrated success in driving performance across diverse markets and channels. He possesses deep insight into consumer behaviour and brands, coupled with a proven ability to inspire and lead complex teams.

Chantel joined Woolworths in September 2016 as the Director: Governance, Risk, Legal and Compliance and Group Company Secretary. Chantel has over 20 years’ experience as a corporate lawyer. In addition to her role as Group Company Secretary, her executive responsibilities include oversight of the Group’s corporate governance, compliance, legal, and risk functions.

Previously, Chantel was Group Company Secretary for Sun International Limited and the Director: Corporate Services and Legal. Prior to Sun International, Chantel served as a Legal Advisor at Nissan South Africa, having completed her articles at Webber Wentzel Bowens.

Sam has been with the Group for almost thirty years, serving as an executive director of WHL since 2014. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Food business, having previously held various senior executive positions across the Group, including that of Group Chief Operating Officer, Group Director: HR & Transformation, and CEO of Woolworths Financial Services.

Sam is an advisory board member of the Stellenbosch Business School.
