Summer 2011 promises to be a bumper season for kids at Woolworths. This season, more than ever, South African parents can count on Woolworths as the ‘one stop shop’ for just about everything they need for their families, from the tiniest tots to teens There’s a lot in store in clothing. Big news is the re-launch of our very successful Re: denim lifestyle brand. For kids, there’s a whole new range of adorable and practical Re: babywear as well as the introduction of an attitude-packed, street-smart Re: kids range for ages 5-16. With summer parties on the horizon, we’re also introducing a range of gorgeous party dresses and special occasion wear for both girls and boys. With Halloween growing in popularity, we’ll also be launching a range of Halloween dress-up costumes that are perfect for parties or Trick or Treating. As always, value remains a focus for Woolworths. For summer, parents can look forward to a wide range of multi-pack basics including t-shirts, leggings and shorts, all offering not only great value, but the kind of quality generations of South African parents have relied on Woolworths for. Safety, too, is something we’ll never compromise on. In clothing, that means things like ensuring that all metal trims and zips are nickel-free, that buttons are securely lock-stitched and poppers tug-tested, that cords are tacked into place and kept short enough to eliminate any choking hazard, that baby and toddler footwear has non-slip soles, and toys are tested to international safety standards. And, of course, we maintain a strict ‘no pins’ policy in the factories where our kids clothing is made. New parents and parents to be will be pleased to hear that we’re rolling out our Babyworld to additional stores, and that the internationally renowned Mothercare range will be available in more stores, including one in KwaZulu-Natal. We’re also pleased to announce that all Mothercare car seats have now been SABS approved. In foods, Woolies is well known as the place to shop for quality, variety, convenience and, of course, kid-appeal. From our fresh baby foods, which now offer an even greater range and variety in accordance with the latest dietary guidelines for babies, to our quick and easy ‘Really Good Food for Kids’ prepared meals (free from added preservatives, colourants and flavourants and packed with added ‘hidden’ vegetables where possible), parents can count on Woolies to help please even the fussiest eater while assisting in providing essential nutrients for their growing bodies. That goes for lunchboxes as well, as Woolworths also offers a wide range of conveniently portioned, kid-size snack options that make it easier to pack balanced lunches. Some of the choices on offer include options like Rosa Tomato, Cucumber and Carrots Mini Snack Packs, Snack Fruit and Nut mix, and Kids Cheesy Blox. Also launching in Oct is a wide range of kids’ stationery items including notebooks, pens and pencils, highlighters, files and more. Look out for the items with the “I Support MySchool” logo as Woolworths will donate 1% of the price to a special MySchool fund to buy books & stationery for underprivileged schools, and MySchool will donate matching funds. Woolworths is also introducing new ranges of baby care and kids’ toiletries which offer excellent value as well as being manufactured according to Woolies ‘Good Beauty’ principles. That means the products are tested by a dermatologist, not tested on animals and are approved by Beauty Without Cruelty. Woolworths kids’ clothing ranges for summer 2011 will be available at most stores nationwide from July 2011. You’ll find a wide range of kids’ foods at most Woolworths stores. For added convenience, you can now also shop for kids’ clothing, homeware and foods online at www.woolworths.co.za.
