Each year Woolworths’ Homeware team travels the world to seek out the very best inspiration for their homeware lines. This season they’ve out-done themselves by bringing home incredible insights which have informed their breath-taking autumn/winter collections. Looking to nature for guidance, the inspired offering brings to life innovative designs, new materials, fresh textures and modern elements. These have then been combined to create a wide range of homeware pieces to suit a multitude of style preferences.

Strongly inspired by reflections – which create a natural kaleidoscope of colours, such as teals, soft aquas, gentle pinks and rich yellows – Woolies’ autumn/winter homeware collection is a feast for the eyes. Think abstract florals, mixed geometrics, watercolour prints and washed patchworks, all accented by metallics, subtle pearlised finishes and mineral inspired prints and patterns.

Synthesis also played a pivotal role in the inspiration behind the collections. An exploration into the lush and leafy origins of nature, where all elements are connected, has culminated in the use of African textures and arty leaves – embracing Africa and its rich print and patterns. The natural colours of our continent: golden yellow, nutmeg and cinnamon along with shades of kale and evergreen, have also been used, to make each and every item highly distinctive.

Utilising surface interest to give life to a variety of items, Woolworths looked to Basotho blankets, Akwete cloth, mud cloth, feathers, delicious monster leaves and abstract botanicals for stimulus, resulting in an array of on-trend pieces which will bring vibrancy to any home.

Ethos was the final route of inspiration for the collections, adding a culturally rich tapestry of earthy and spicy tones designed to create items with a modern ethnic look and feel. Seeking direction from an eclectic mix of Inca, Aztec and Ikat patterns and embroideries, Kilim rug designs as well as washed Shibori and Moroccan tile prints, the collections takes you on an intrepid journey of years gone by. Imagine impressive textures, ornate tassels, chunky weaves and hand painted ceramics.
