As leaders, school principals are vital to the upliftment of education standards in South Africa. That’s why, as part of the Woolworths Making the Difference Educational programme, we’ve teamed up with the Western Cape Education Department to provide support to school principals at our third Quality Management conference. The aim of the conference is to equip principals with additional leadership skills they need in order to manage their schools more successfully.

This year, 300 deputy principals will be attending the conference, and will be addressed by three dynamic speakers. Ian Moir, Woolworths CEO and key note speaker at the event, will give the atendees insight into leadership and Woolworths values, inspiring them to run their schools like profitable businesses. Says Moir, “Our values are the things we believe in; they’re the foundation and cornerstone of our business. They give us direction and guide our behavior and choices.” Regional Manager of Woolworths in the Western Cape, Mike Gardiner, will go on to talk about operational excellence, followed by adventurer, motivational speaker, former 50/50 presenter and MyPlanet Ambassador Braam Malherbe, who will close with a few words of encouragement.

The conference will be held on Saturday 27 July 2013 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Cape Teaching and Leadership Institute (CTLI) in New Nooiensfontein Road, Kuilsriver.
